These domains are profoundly affected by anxiety disorders, necessitating the exploration of alternative interventions rooted in current research.
Additionally, individuals who struggle with anxiety frequently encounter coexisting conditions, resulting in a more intricate and costly treatment procedure. Anxiety also has a substantial influence on healthcare equality. It can impede an individual’s capacity to obtain healthcare services, contributing to disparities in medical care utilization and results. For instance, individuals with severe anxiety might entirely refrain from seeking medical assistance, thereby leading to exacerbated health problems over time.
Problem
Anxiety disorders, such as generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and social anxiety disorder, are associated with significant levels of distress and functional impairment. The influence of these factors is extensive, affecting individuals from various age cohorts, cultural backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses. These conditions affect patients and significantly burden healthcare organizations nationally and globally. Direct costs encompass expenditures associated with medical and mental health services, whereas indirect costs arise from diminished productivity and the economic encumbrance imposed on families and communities. The financial burden of providing care for individuals with anxiety disorders is of particular significance for healthcare organizations (World Health Organisation, 2022). The economic ramifications are experienced not only on a global scale but also within the United States, where anxiety disorders prevail as one of the most prevalent mental health conditions.
The presence of anxiety disorders has implications for the quality of healthcare delivered by organizations. Patients with anxiety face complex healthcare requirements that may prove difficult to address within conventional care models. Anxiety can worsen physical health conditions, hinder treatment adherence, and result in frequent emergency department visits and hospital readmissions (Garakani et al., 2020). Consequently, healthcare organizations must navigate the challenge of managing both the mental and physical aspects of patient care, emphasizing the need for effective interventions.

The prevalence of anxiety within Desai Medical Group’s psychiatric patient population is concerning, with numerous patients experiencing chronic and severe anxiety that extends treatment periods, intensifies medication usage, and may even require readmission. This places excessive strain on healthcare resources while potentially compromising patient well-being. As a result, an urgent need is to explore evidence-based non-pharmacological interventions that can be seamlessly incorporated into the existing treatment approach.
At Desai Medical Group, the predominant approach for managing anxiety in psychiatric patients is centered around pharmacological interventions. While these interventions demonstrate a certain level of effectiveness, they are accompanied by potential adverse effects and may not adequately address the comprehensive needs of patients.
