Background
The data used for this analysis includes information from the 2023 County Health Rankings and data on diabetes prevalence in the United States. The overall prevalence of diabetes in the country is approximately 9%, while Georgia has a slightly higher rate of 11%. In Fulton County, specifically, the prevalence of diabetes stands at around 10%.
Risks in Fulton County
Three diabetes mellitus risks have been identified for this health problem. This chart compares the data in my local community, Fulton County, State of Georgia, and national data per county health rankings in 2023. Overconsumption of alcohol
•In Fulton County, 19% of the population engages in excessive drinking compared to the state average of 16% in Georgia and the national average of 19%.
•Regarding adult obesity rates, Fulton County has a prevalence rate of 29%, while Georgia is slightly higher at 34%, and the overall USA rate stands at 32%. •In terms of physical activity levels, Fulton County reports a percentage of 21%, whereas Georgia sits at around 25%, and nationally it stands at approximately 22%.
Landscape
