Patient involvement in decision-making helps them make choices that align with their values (Neufeld & Malin, 2024). Third, the course challenged my understanding of the importance of enhancing data interpretation skills. The ability to collect and analyze data is crucial for evaluating the effectiveness of various project components. It helps the project leader identify gaps for improvement, leading to better project outcomes. It is also vital to the creation of an evaluation plan to identify the effectiveness of interventions.

The knowledge I gained from the course prepares me to practice as a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)- prepared nurse in numerous ways. As a DNP-prepared nurse leader, knowledge of ethical considerations during project management ensures that I uphold the highest standards in practice. Ethics and ethical considerations are integral to the nursing profession (Bowler et al., 2024). Therefore, ethical skills and attitudes are essential to competent healthcare (Bowler et al., 2024). Ethics in DNP practice is vital for building trust and delivering high-quality care.

Additionally, knowledge of self-determination, as evidenced by obtaining consent, equips me to promote patients’ autonomy consistently. It is crucial that project interventions are patient-centered and respect individuals’ rights to participate or not participate without adverse repercussions (Bowler et al., 2024). Lastly, the skill of synthesizing project data is vital to advancing DNP research and innovation. It supports the development of new insights and innovative practices that enhance the quality of care. It also facilitates the communication of information, enabling better advocacy for patients and leadership of interdisciplinary teams.
